Day 8 begins!
Day 8
We boarded our buses this morning for the 3-hr drive to our lunch stop in the charming town of Ferrara and then on to Treviso. We are driving up into the Eponine mountains (the range that creates the spine of Italy) and the scenery is breath-taking.
The Vivaldi bus was starting to overheat, so Witte called for another bus to pick us up at our rest stop. Amazing luck!! Another Witte bus (from the same Dutch company) had just dropped off a group at the Roma airport and the driver was heading to Venice to drop his bus at the garage. He was just 10 min behind us!! So the drivers moved all our luggage and below you see a photo of the changing of the drivers - from Matteo to Guiseppe - under the watchful/cheerful eye of Monique, our head Tour Manager. But we shall call Guiseppe, our new driver, Salvatori since he is our saviour today. Matteo will take his time driving to the bus garage in Venice and try to join us for our final concert tonight in Fregona.
By the way, Mr. Tilley takes responsibility for the problem. He tells us that he never went on a music trip in his school years or college that did not include a bus problem of some sort. So he was just waiting for the "shoe to drop" and it did. :)
